“Fine Margins” is a publication series housed in a custom 3D-printed slipcase, exploring iconic moments of near victory in sport. Each of the four volumes volume examines the fine line between triumph and defeat, celebrating the drama of narrowly missed success.

The project began with a question:
Can we celebrate defeat?

Research was 80% of this project, deep and methodical, involving archival footage, sports data, and exploring different ways time can be visualised.
Through that process, the concept gradually revealed itself rather than searching for a visual style.
